About Brava

Brava Web Solutions is a small web design business based in the metro Denver area. Although our office is in Englewood, Colorado, we serve clients throughout the country, including some as far away as Maine and others as close as Arizona. Founded by Heather Mills in 2004, Brava Web Solutions was formerly HM Designs from 2001 - 2004. We offer affordable web design solutions for the "Average Joe". Our philosophy is that everyone should have access to a creative, polished, well-designed web site no matter what their focus.

Our business was created from the idea that many businesses and individuals either don't have a web site and don't know where to start, or they have an existing site that is outdated or difficult to maintain. We keep hearing from people that they are too busy to update their web sites. Much of the information is out-of-date and they don't know how to manage it themselves. Brava decided to step in to fill this need. By focusing on small businesses and individuals, we are able to create professional, focused web sites that help get their message out on the web.

We also have formal training in web design principles and practices, so we know how to design a site that is easy to navigate, optimized for search engines and pleasing to the eye. It is rare to find the perfect balance between artistic abilities and technical knowledge, but Brava Web Solutions has just that -- the fusion of creativity & intelligence in web design.

Owner's Bio

Heather Mills, CIW P, MCIS, is Owner & Senior Web Designer for Brava Web Solutions. Before formally studying web design, Heather was a Senior Music Editor for Sunhawk.com in Seattle. She helped to create digital sheet music which was then encrypted in order to be viewed, heard, and printed only by the purchaser over the Internet. It was exposure to such cutting-edge technology that lead Heather to seek further knowledge in the web design/content arena.

In 2001, she completed the Master CIW Designer program at Bellevue Community College in Seattle and successfully completed her CIW P certification. She then returned to the Denver area to pursue work in Information Technology. Heather began working for Lockheed Martin Corporation in July 2001 in telecommunications and later became a Systems Integration Analyst for the Systems Design & Integration division of Lockheed's Enterprise Information Systems organization. While at Lockheed, Heather designed & developed an intranet web site and supported the successful launch of a new web portal. She also conducted technical training for end-users of the portal.

Heather also began and completed her Master's degree in Computer Information Systems (MCIS) with a focus in Web Design and Development Technologies from the University of Denver while working for Lockheed. Her coursework included Enterprise Architecture, Flash, JavaScript, C++, Database Design & Programming using SQL & Oracle, Technical Writing, XML, Software Engineering and Project Management.

Today, Heather is very excited to be a part of Brava Web Solutions and is eager to take a hands-on approach to every project that comes Brava's way. She describes her design style as simple yet elegant, concise yet comprehensive, and artistic yet intelligent.
